Here is a detailed timeline for the cutover to Phase II. Looks like 2021 is the year for full cutover and transition

SAPSRS???? Sounds like an avian flu or respiratory disease. Glad they picked something catchy... GATRRS, TXWARN, SAPSRS.. San Antonio Public Safety Radio System.. Not a mention of the word regional, interoperability, or even the Alamo.

Alamo Wireless Interoperability Network AWIN

Alamo Area Regional Radio System AARS

or my favorite,

San Antonio Regional Interoperability Network SARIN

That timeline seems a little pie in the sky, considering how long it took them to roll out the existing system. Does Harris even have any existing TDMA systems with this many simulcast cells? Probably their most complex P25 design ever.

Best of luck!

Thats because they really can't use regional, IF THEY AREN'T!! GATTRS, TxWarn and the like are multi county REAL regional networks. All San Antonio seems interested in is covering San Antonio, with enough overlap to cover Bexar County so that they will piggyback. Any further coverage is a 'pilon' (pronounced PEE-LOWN) and incidental to the footprint of the outlying sites.

More appropriate names would be:

AARC Alamo Area Radio Compromise
DWARF Dailey-Wells Awful Radio Fortress
MIDGET Municipal Incompetence Determines Gestapo Emergency Telecomms
SUCKS Scully's Unacceptable Communications Kickback $ystem
YACHTT Yesterday's Aged Communications Handheld Technology Today

"DPS 107, assist SAPD with a chase (I know they don't chase but play along), headed 37 southbound, contact them on the MIDGET TRAFFIC channel...

The Lubbock switchover from EDACS to Phase2 TDMA took about 5 years and there was only 2 sites and not nearly as many mobiles. Since Lubbock was the first TDMA they completed guess they are ready for the big leagues.
