VA State Police Fairfax 1 and other jurisdictions chasing/dealing with a LARGE swarm of motorcycle/ATV's from DC/PG County.

Currently into McLean/Tysons area on I-495, A number of bikes have had accidents and hit cars on the Beltway.

Bikes pulling wheelies, doing burnouts, closing lanes.

I have NO sympathy for any of these idiots that are getting hurt, this is not someone personal playground.

VA State Police are just trying to herd these clowns back out of the area, but many are heading out I66 Westbound as I type this.

What a bunch of garbage we have to deal with.

Any updates on this. I find it crazy that they actually thought that it was a good idea to do this In VA. VSP don't play around.

As of about 3:30 pm things quieted down. Overall VSP just wanted to get these guys "back on the other side of the river".

Montgomery PD, MD State PD, US Park Police, Fairfax County PD, VS State PD were all involved at some point. This was a LARGE group of I am guessing around 150-200 motorcycles based on the reports I was able to piece together. Seems the motorcycle groups got split up in traffic so they were coming in waves in to VA. At one point Fairfax 1 Helo was up then later there was a smaller Cessna planer was running over I495 as well.

As for Fairfax PD McLean, Reston, Fair Oaks, Franconia were all active as well. Seems some of these guys took off out I66 Westbound, some went toward Springfield.

Fairfax Fire & Rescue responded to a number accidents, some pretty bad. A number of riders dumped motorcycles and were able to get back on them and take off. I would guess around a dozen or close to a dozen accidents happened. I think I heard a few motorcycles ran into cars on I495, I think in Maryland.

I could hear the chaos from my house, when to check some of it out. Many motorcycles had removed the license plates so they could not be identified. Clearly to get this many people together there is some social median group that needs to be tapped into so LE can get the upper hand.

This was a major waste of time and resources and causes a lot of unsafe situation in the area. It will not be the last of this stupidity.

I'm sure there will be plenty of arrests from this. The last guy that got caught doing this in Virginia with another group got charged a felony for it. Let's hope they don't come out here and do this again. I hate to see more people get hurt over this stupid behavior.

I thought it was an organized (though complete clusterf) ride by the way it sounded like VSP was escorting them. Could've sworn I heard VSP escort a group from Coleman Powersports in Woodbrige on to I95 then meeting up with other groups.

Fairfax started pursuing one guy after doing a wheelie on 66. VSP asked why they were pursuing. Once they were told why they said they weren't getting involved.

An escort from Coleman Powersports in Woodbridge sounds like a legit group and there may have been more going on due to break in the weather and finally the lack of rain and humidity.

Lets just say the demographic that was causing most of the problems on the DC/MD/VA border area was not the same demographic that would like show up in Woodbridge at Coleman Power Sports.

Just spoke with a guy that saw about 80 motorcycles this afternoon in Alexandria and called the Alexandria PD to inform them and they were WELL AWARE of this specific group.

I have no problem with the guys getting out for a ride, even in groups, but they need to have license plates and drive like responsible adults. No shutting down the Interstates to start side shows with burn outs, wheelies, standing on the seat or handle bars, and riding side saddle dragging their feet on the ground. Nothing good will come of this and the more they get away with it, the more they will try to pull this crap off.

Not sure what the solution is, the police need a directed Energy Beam that will kill the electronics and stop these things in place or some sort of Bear Spray nozzles under the bumper that can fog these idiots and cause them to pull over because they cannot see or breath.

Thanks for the WTOP link, the video is of Exit 44 to Route 193/Georgetown Pike coming from MD.

Not too far from where I live. I could hear a fair amount of the PD and FD activity as the motorcycles spinning at high RPM.

Just what everyone needs to encounter on the highway on a Sunday afternoon.
