York Regional Police

Hi guys...been an on and off scanner since 1992. I know a lot of police services have gone digital and encrypted but is it still possible to hear York Regional police? Whats the status on their system. I tried searching but the search function isnt working for some reason. Thanks for any help.

There system is in the DB like most police services they are 100% ENC. The YORK P25 is about 90% Encrypted except for Fire dispatch and Works

Ok thanks. So no more scanning police in Toronto or York region. Thats sucks ☹️ I guess theres still fire. Can Toronto fire still be heard unencrypted?

Not a problem. Yes, most fire services are still unencrypted. In my opinion, the whole thing with most police services stems from a YRP officer being stuck and pinned my a van in 2011. His audio was pulled from RR and then rebradcasted by the media.

Even without the Styles incident, they'd all be encrypted.

Unfortunatly true. Many LE are going encrypted just because they can and not because they need to.
