Heads up Northwest Arkansas. An article in today's Arkansas Democrat Gazette says Rogers School District will join Rogers PD and Fire on AWIN when they complete their transition.

Excerpt:
Each school will get a certain number of radios employees may use to talk with each other or directly to the police and fire departments, said Charles Lee, the district's assistant superintendent for general administration.

"They'll have an instant line of communication with dispatch," Lee said. "In any type of crisis, real-time information is one of the most valuable things responders to that situation can have."

School bus drivers also will have the radios and will be able to speak to local law enforcement or district officials no matter where they are in the state, Lee said.

Here is the article, which may be behind a paywall for some:

Sounds smart. May be expensive but smart. IMHO, all schools should have radios that can contact dispatch directly. No, maybe not everyone can but 2 or 3 people per campus should be able to. Direct line of communication and all those monitoring can get real time updates.

County is building out an six tower simulcast for AWIN. Most of the County will be joining the AWIN they hope Sheriff, County Fire/EMS, OEM and Rogers will be fully on by January, and running TDMA asap.

Noticed the updated AWIN for Benton Co. Thanks.
The question I raise is the TGRP ID of 2953. There is already a 2953 and its for the State PD Crime information Center. Didn't think there could be the same ID's on one system
