• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I was wondering if someone could help me out with some programming on my md390 and my md2017. We currently have a mototrbo system in place consisting of approx 25 xpr6500 radios for my townships EMA. I purchased a few md390s for proof of concept to work on our system. I have the radios on the system and communicating but it seems the talk groups that are on the same timeslot (we have 1 and 2..)are receiving at the same time.I have a feeling it's my contact name and grouplist selections. Any chance you could help me out with this? these radios will make a great addition to our EOC..so I'm hoping I can make it work. let me know if you could assist! thanks -Jason

The Motorola radios may be using some feature not on the TYTs.

Most likey something with the way you programmed the receive groups. I never use groups and only on talkgroup per channel. You can always scan the channels.,

Going forward I wouldn't depend on a cheap Chinese DMR radio to access a government radio system. I do own a few that are used for ham radio, but it's not critical funtion. These radios have been known to cause issues on both slots at once.

In closing whoever runs the system would have to allow tbese radio to access it, as they have standards and approved radios for tbe system. End users need the system's operator premission prior adding any subscriber radios onto it.

I don't have any experience with a 390 but just off the top of my head, do you have any receive group lists programmed? That still shouldn't cause two tg's to receive but I can't think of anything else.

I'll download the CPS for that model and look through it.

Do you have GroupCallMatch set On? If not, that might be the cause. You might want to ensure PrivateCallMatch is also set On.

These values can be set on the radios via Menu/Utilities/RadioSettings/GroupCallMatch and PrivateCallMatch.

They can also be set in the CPS on the General Settings page.

Is the system manager aware you have these on the system? If so, he'd probably be glad to help.
