Very new member here. Wish to learn . . . much to learn.
Was wondering if there is a list of acronyms that a 'new to radio' person could access ?
Thank you.

Acronyms are pretty user specific.

SOA in medical parlance means "Short of Air". SOA in some radio communities means "Scene of Action".

SOB in medical parlance means "Shortness of Breath." SOB in other contexts means....well, you know.

VHF and British Columbia. The link that ecps92 gave is very helpful, thank you.
BC has many 'resource roads' with lots of logging and mining activity. Frequencies have been listed, and are posted at the road entrances. Safe travel on these roads are my concern.

Will read and re-read the link given !

If you'll go to https://www.acronymslist.com/ for instance, you'll find there are hundreds of acronyms is use throughout the world. Your best bet is to Google it or ask when you see one you don't understand.

That was pretty much the genesis of "SOA", political correctness and all.

The older I get, the less tolerant I am of political correctness, incompetence and stupidity.

Around here, they'll actually say, "shortness of breath" but in the notes, they put "SOB."

Don't disagree a bit. . . our society has always been known to grease squeaky wheels though. The "hearers" rights seem to be more important than the "speaker's".
