MUF..................................................

This is unusual, never heard before so i thought i would post.
Unknown if commercial type comms or military.

Receiver:Uniden BCT-15
Antenna:5/8 wave 27 mhz antenna
Coax:RG-8
Searching 28.000 mhz/40.000 mhz in .5 khz steps but changed to 12.5 khz steps
when i determined that they must be narrowband radios.
Skip has been changing the last few days with unpredictable results.
Very interesting captures.

I've heard a lot of interesting stuff in the 25 to 50 MHz range but never anything from that part of the world, awesome logs.

I imagine the band below 10m is going pretty crazy too. I've been hearing South American taxi dispatchers in the 25.8 to 28 MHz range over the past few weeks.

Awesome logs again man. Wouldn't surprise me if the stuff in the 29 MHz range is done with modified 10 meter export radios from China.

Good catch. I've been hearing some JA, Japanese, amateurs on the 10 m band, in SSB, in the late afternoons over the last few days. I'm located in North eastern BC and using an R 75 with a multiband dipole.

This morning around 06:00am PST
I was searching the 10 Meter Amatuer Band and i was able to I.D. some of these Callsigns:

29.3000Mhz/100.0Hz-(LU5DLS)....Repeater Argentina,S.America
29.3300Mhz/CSQ......(French)......Simplex France?
29.6100Mhz/CSQ......(VE3JJA)....Simplex Northern Ontario,Canada (Small fishing Village/Population 300+ Near Manitoba/Ontario Border)
29.6100Mhz/CSQ......(G0xxxx)....Simplex Yorkshire,England
29.6400Mhz/CSQ......(EA7ELY)...Simplex Alcor,Spain
29.8000Mhz/CSQ......(PA3FAO)..Simplex Netherlands

And various Stations in MN,TX on both AM and FM.
My reciever dosnt do SSB although there was plenty of SSB traffic.
This died out mid morning and then in the afternoon the MUF seemed to be 33.0000mhz to 41.0000mhz.
Mostly hearing Power Companys such as PP&L,CL&P,Northeastern Utilities in the 37.0000mhz band.
I was able to I.D. some.

Also heard new captures for my log:
37.0400Mhz/127.3Hz.(KWJ227).......Repeater.(Sheriff).Smyth County,VA
37.0800Mhz/114DPL.(WQAW220)...Repeater.(Sheriff)....Craig County,VA
37.3000Mhz/131.8hz.(WQAH864)....Repeater.(Sheriff)......Lee County,VA

40.6700Mhz/TELM....(Snotel Meteor Burst?)
40.6900Mhz/TELM....(Snotel Meteor Burst?)

That was about it for today.
This evening tried for China,Korea Etc, but just a few scratchy signals broke through on allready logged frequencies and Chinese and Korean heard but it didnt happen.
I have more but these are the highlights today.

FYI:
Russian Yelling/Shouted (One Long Word or Phrase) definitely Russian, with Siren in background/Siren sounded like an "Alarm" or "Warning" siren, Shreiking Low to High Woooop! Woooop! Woooop!
The echos heard sounded like concrete bunkers or empty warehouse type echos.
I was going to check and see if there is any Missle Tests going on over there.
Leaves more Questions than answers now, im curious.
I tried finding out about current Soviet/Russian/Chinese Radios that do that spectrum but only found low power Soviet Tank Radios that do those freqs in segments for diferent forces such as Air Force,Army,Tanks Etc and there was one model that did 28mhz to 36mhz (I need to confirm that info) for Ground Forces.
I will look at that site again for ha ha's.
There has been Joint Chinese/Russian/Iranian/Pakistani training going on recently????????

I remember reading someplace several years ago that the Russian Police, located in the east and southeast parts of the country use 29-30 MHz. They are able to achieve much greater range on VHF-Low band, rather than UHF in the mountainous regions. I believe that the fire departments also operate on VHF-Low band as well in these areas.

I heard 30.175 mhz this morning for a couple of minutes and it sounded like they were u.s. military police letting vehicles through.
