Default Best Low Band Scanner

Hi all, still working on my stealth antennas, so far, so good. I've been reading up on the new scanners and it seems the best scanners for low band appears to be the 996, the 15X and the discontinued 780. I like the 15X, low cost, more then enough channels but does it display the CTCSS & DPL codes on hits? I may have either missed that or misread it. I need to do this as I still can't find out how the R8500 can scan all 800 channels at once, it can be done, I saw a guy do it with a series of button pushes. Anyway thanks again, enjoy the weekend and GOD bless.

The 996 and 15 series are slow but have the menu and memory advantages. I use a BC796D.

Thanks mancow. What radios do you use for low band monitoring other then the 796? I heard about your milair SDR scanner plug in but can't find the Youtube video. That might be all I really need, well for now. When I eventually get settled in I'd like to find some vintage low band tuners. Thanks and have an enjoyable weekend.
