Default Winradio G31DDC vs WR-G305e

Just curious if there is any difference in these 2 radios other than the obvious G305e having expanded band coverage? Seems like the 305e has more bang for the buck. Or am I missing something? It seems the 305e covers everything that the 31DDC does and more. Any reason to get one over the other? Unless it is like buying other physical DC to daylight receivers where you give up reception to get coverage?

I been looking into getting an Icom R75 or Alinco DX R8t. But the more I look, the more I like the looks of these SDR's, especially these two.

Thanks.

If you were to compare DXing with Fishing, the 31DDC Excalibur acts like a fish finder, showing you where the fish are. Where traditional receivers its cast (spin the dial) and hope for a bite.

Don't forget that although the G305 is technically a SDR it is basically a conventional radio that uses the computer for control. The G31 / 33 are DDC radios that pass the whole base band to the computer and the computer does all the demod and processing. See some of Token's posts to further clarify what the difference is.
