Colleton County 800MHz

This week I talked with someone high up in Colleton County Comms. Apparently the County cannot afford to go 800. That said, there is some limited use of 800 available to some of the police there. Fire and EMs have no 800 at this time

Probably the same forthe Pickens County Sheriff. They got enough 800 HT radios for the patrol officers and a few for Emergency management. Everyone else will stay on UHF 450mhz or VHF 155mhz. There was an article in the Greenville News about the radios being part of a Homeland Security Grant. They were going to use a new antenna tower site rent money to pay the Palmetto 800 fees.
