I am new to trunking but have learned to program my Pro 97 with the Win 97 software. I am in the Greenville area and listen on the Palmetto 800 system. My question is about the motorboat noise which I understand is supposed to be data burst. If that is correct, how does one get around that or is it just something you have to learn to live with? I listen to SCHP in Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson. The noise bursts come fairly often. My reception otherwise is great.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. I hope I posted in the right place.

Thanks

Make sure you have the bank as Mot, each of the 800 MHz freqs as Mot, and that should block out the CC from being heard... Now if your hearing a TG with a sound like a growling .. then your hearing an digital tg.. your 97 will NOT do digital voice. You will have to lock out ALL digital tg's. To hear the digital youll need an digital capable scanner. :)
