I understand Surfside PD is now operating on the Horry County system, switching from the Myrtle Beach communications system. I have reprogrammed my scanner and set control channel to 857.2125. I have programmed talk groups listed under Horry Public Safety. However, I'm not receiving any traffic. I am for Myrtle Beach though as I understand they switching over too.

MB has switched, SS is switching.... You need all the CC's for the HCTRS if you have CC ONLY available for your scanner.

I've put all the control channels for the HCTRS but stll have not heard Surfside PD. They are no longer are using the MB Communications system though as I can't lock on their control channel.

I thought maybe MB Comm's frequencies had changed, which would explain why you weren't hearing that system anymore. Some of the frequencies used for that system are in the 851-854MHz, which are some of the first frequencies to be affected by rebanding. I thought maybe they had their license modified changed freqs.

Searching the FCC database reveals very few active 800MHz licenses for MB Comm anymore. The license for the Surfside site is terminated. I can't find any license for any 800MHz frequencies at that site. Perhaps someone else can find something.

Perhaps they converted their few remaining clients using 800MHz SMR systems to some other system or band, maybe even Nextel?

MBC site in Surfside is SysID 6e14, license WPES203.

Current control channel is 857.6125.

Other licensed freqs:
854.3375
856.0875
856.0875
858.0875
858.5625
859.0875
859.6625
860.6625

Looks like the frequencies did change for rebanding. All of the 851-853 freqs originally on the license are gone. I have not confirmed if SB PD is still using the system, but I would assume they are.
