i was reading the forums and a thread was posted about controll only scanners anf just putting they red and blue freqs in the bank my question is will this work on the pro-97? i will continue searching for my answer but any help would be thankful

Yes it will. That scanner ignores any frequency programmed in MOT mode that doesn't have a control channel. If the control channel for the site you're monitoring never changes (most Palmetto 800 sites are this way), just program the active control channel frequency.

If you think you might need another nearby tower then put the 5 I-TAC channels between the towers programmed. This way the 97 will cycle between trunk and conv. I've had some people complain about scanners hanging up in the trunking mode and not moving on. Wheather or not this is required for proper trunking, it's still a good idea to have the I-TAC programmed anyway. Good Luck, Larry
