Default Milsat question

Hi
I'm programmimg my scanner (BCT15) and was wondering if it can pick up the wideband milsat 500khz channels ? I know the BCT15 has wideband mode on it but not sure if it can do 500 khz. Any help would be appreciated. I got a ton of programming in this scanner already. Working on milsat right now. Using Freescan software.

Thanks for any info in advance.

It depends on what you mean by "pick up."

But no, the wideband FM setting on your scanner is probably just 100Khz wide at the most, for picking up FM broadcast stations or analog TV audio.

Even if you could you could adequately receive it you wouldn't discern anything. The are using modulation schemes that you will not be able to decode AND decrypt.

I kind of figured 500 khz was to wide for the scanner but i thought i would give it a try anyways. got nothing, oh, well. At least it save me a lot of programmimg, heh heh.
