Default DPD and satcom

A little surprised at this but my DPD log periodic has turned out to be a fairly decent mil satcom antenna. I was digging a drawer today and came up with a Advanced Receiver Research preamp for 240-270. Being lazy I opted not to deploy the satcom antenna and I hooked it to the DPD. It is pulling in all kinds of wonderful South American citezens that have turned our multi billion dollar satcom network into their own 3rd world "circle of friends" network.

I wonder how much real world improvement would be made by adding horizontal elements. That would have to be a whole new design though. And to do all that, we may as well make it just the sat band.

We worked on some custom LP models for the ground control for a satellite a while back. They didn't ask for cross polarization, which kind of surprised me. But they apparently worked well for them.
