Moved to the Space and Sat forum. Before posting to General Scanning please take a moment to look at all forums titles and descriptions before deciding to post there. Thank you.

Don't let the Mods get ya down, Jeff.. They're just doin' their thankless jobs, and we were ALL Noobs here once and been "posting-adjusted" in one way or another, right, Wayne?:-)

Here is a link that contains freqs to monitor, look in the right hand column under 'Configuration' for the 'downlink' and listen there.

bareback...

In short, yes you can hear them when they are coming over. To track the ISS click on this link: http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/tracking/

As n4yek linked the frequencies are on the right hand side- 145.8000MHz.

It's very rare that you can actually hear the ISS crew itself, what you have a better chance of hearing is relayed ham radio operators.

The greattest chance to hear the ISS crew is when they do the school contacts for elementary schools. You only get to hear the ISS side but they are answering the kids questions from the schedualed schools.

Ruined my day - They were on this afternoon on a trek up the East coast - I was in the Truck with my cranky old TM-G707 set up for the V/U Repeater and heard the astros talking to ground stations on 145.8 downlink at S7- S9+ I and I couldn't remember the 145.990 Uplink frequency!! By the time one of the guys on the local repeater got on the issfanclub.net site and got it to me, they were long gone. :-(

I worked ON the STS and ISS Comm and Nav systems at KSC and have never worked them.. :-(

So, Just listen to 145.800 (Put it in a Scanner) and you'll hear them!

Time for a beam!
