Default Space Shuttle Atlantic Launch 2:01PM EST

I'm really surprised someone else hasn't made a thread yet. Launch is in roughly 3 hours from now. Plug in 257.9 and listen once the shuttle lifts, you might get a clip or two of it.

Also note that NASA is running their Shuttle Launch support net for this launch on SATCOM with checkins and radio checks on 261.700 NFM. You'll probably need a pre-amp and outdoor antenna at a minimum to catch this traffic.

Also, 6751 KHz USB Appears to be the support net for the SRB recovery boats.

Keep an eye on 5711 KHz USB and 10780 USB as well.

Time in the subject is off by an hour - it's at 2:01pm EDT.

NASA - NASA TV has the video feed if you don't have NASA TV on your system.

During the previous launch, someone in PA was able to hear a few things. Worth a shot.

Wildbillx, There is a good possibility you might hear something from NJ.

Just realized you spelled the orbiter wrong too It's Atlantis. A little concern with ice on the tank, but all looking pretty good for 2:01:56pm EDT launch.

A lot of activity here in Europe on SATCOM 261.700 Mhz from the TAL-site Moron in Spain. Herky 600, Herky 601, Cape Osborn and Wolf Den on this frequency one hour prior to the launch until 2:15pm EST.

Listen here for a small audio impression : http://tinyurl.com/ovd9qp
