Default Finally caught the ISS

After about two or so years of scanning Iv never had any luck picking audio up of the space station and recently Iv been staring at the Google satellite tracking page waiting for it to pass over and the other day I got the brief clip of them talking to a school or something, saying ..... its challenging and there is a great view from earth up here .... and then I lost them .. its probably geeky but being able to pick up a transmission from space seems kinda cool. Im looking forward to hearing more and seeing if I can capture some SSTV images

We listen to them quite regularly here in SoCal (San Diego inparticularly). The freq we get them on is 147.150 and 145.440. They always go live when they're doing spacewalks and various other operations.

Are you talking about receiving rebroadcast transmissions of NASA coms or ARISS? ARISS is a contest event on 145.800 and is a contact to other amateur event stations by astronauts and cosmonauts and is not part of routine transmission. What you are probably receiving is a rebroadcast of routine ISS/NASA transmissions by WA3NAN to VHF or something.
