Default US Navy TACSAT-4

Does anybody know anything about this new US Navy experimental UHF satellite? I wonder if it works in conjuction with the current Fleetsat UHF system?

This SAT is specifically for comms with the PRC-117(G) in "remote" moutain areas, without having to use/point a satellite antenna to the sky The SATCOM Freq range is 243MHz to 318MHz. TacSat apprx 243-270MHz

the PRC-117(G) manpack has a range of 30MHz to 2GHz

Found a list of frequencies for tacsat at: https://rdl.train.army.mil/soldierPo.../FM6_02X90.PDF
If they are any good all you can do is try them. Sounds like most of the stuff is digital signals anyways.

The only thing monitored so far has been the S-band transponder.

Last week zguy1243 monitored testing on 252.950. It was confirmed TacSat-4, the operator even said the bird was crossing over Greenland. Very interesting stuff! I would visit #hearsat on StarChat for updated info.
