Question recording from scanner to computer

is there any software out on the internet that will allow me to hook my scanner to my computer and record to the computer for my fire department

but if i get pne pf those programs i need a microphone to record the sound. is there any way to connect it through usb

Feed from headphone/speaker out jack on the scanner into the microphone/line-in port on computer using standard 3.5mm stereo plug cable. Using a regular microphone is not recommended as it would pick up background noise. The cable is the best method.

Since the output from your scanner will typically overload the mic input and sound horrible, and many laptops now have no line-in, this is what I use:

There are cheaper solutions for USB input also. Although this is not quite what I was looking for there are ones that look just like this that have a Line-In instead of a Mic-In:

ok well i am going to use my pro-2053 so how would i hook it up to my computer????
