Default Windows mobile streaming?

I have read and it seems people have luck with the blackberry, and ipod. I do not seem to find anyone who has had any luck with windows mobile. I have a new htc ozone I think its the lasted version of windows mobile 6. Anyone out there got any suggestions...or know anyone doing this with success?

I use GreenSoftware go to options and select all of the audio types under Menu>Tools>Options>Associations. Then use the browser to go to the live audio section of the website and select Winamp and start the stream just like you would on your regular computer. Also check out PPCgeeks.com and XDAdevelopers for programs and FREE upgrades to your phone(note I don't see any ROM upgrades yet for your phone but any program/APP for WM5 or 6 will work for your phone). Also be sure not to upgrade your ROM from XDAdevelopers as those are for GSM phones.

So it sounds like you guys are starting your own streams as well? I was hoping to somehow utilize an existing website that is already streaming stuff from my local area. Home

I've got Don Starr's PocketPC Remote Monitoring Client running flawlessly on my Sprint 'Mogul' (WM 6.1).

Both of those feeds are also on RR.com. Also get this browser http://www.skyfire.com/ it has flashplayer installed.

That only works with your own feed, and you have to use a PSR500/600 or RS PRO106/197 along with WIN500.

It does require a scanner from the PSR-500 family as well as Win500, but it certainly isn't limited to "your own feed".

True.

I quoted the OP and was responding to the OP.

Perhaps I failed to interpret the query as RidgeRunner01 intended but it seemed to me that the question was basically anyone know of success with WM streaming.

Well yeah you can put in another persons IP address and port. If I remember correctly there was also a way to allow more than one user to connect, but I don't remember how to do that.

Yep - just like any other streaming method (though some may let you specify IP/Port by "clicking on a link").

I use my "TCPMux" app to do allow multiple connections, some with more "rights" than others (e.g. max connection time, controlling the scanner).

GS player will show you metadata info, just have it associate with all types of audio Eg .m3u. BTW thanks Don for the awesome WIN500 software, client and mobile client.

Really alpha tags?

So where are the alpha tags coming from?

So the server I am using feeds to scanamerica, and he also has teamspeak, and proscan. How would I get that alpha information, keep in mind that I dont host my own feed.

I don't know about others, but I use WIN500 and check the LCD in separate window then tell oddcast to grab metadata from WindowXXXXXX and that streams the alpha tags. Not everyone streams alpha tags though.

Default alpha tags

The sever I am using only streams alpha tags with proscan. So unless there is a way to run that in win mobile I am out of luck with that respect.

You shouldn't have to run proscan on your phone, GSplayer should display any alpha tag information that you're streaming.

Default help maybe?

maybe you could help me Astrak, I think I am missing something. If I go to my feeds site on
Cumberland County, Maine (ME) Live Police, Fire, and EMS Scanners on RadioReference.com what should I be entering into GS player because I can not see to get it to work? I tried a few different variations for southern me fd's, such as...

http://www.radioreference.com/script...4992908492.m3u
Southern Maine Fire Departments

What am I missing...

Your help is greatly appreciated!

I don't have an ozone, I have a touch diamond, which is Windows 6.1PRO but I'm using Windows 6.5 right now. I used skyfire, went to the county in Maine you're trying to listen to, chose my media player as Winamp then clicked the speaker icon. It then asked where to save the file to I chose under folder My music in location main memory and it started right up. I don't think this feed has alpha tags embedded, I listened to it with Winamp on my computer and I didn't see any.

Default thanks

Thanks Astrak!

The part I was messing up on was I was trying to punch the url manualy. I didnt know you save the link then open it in gs player. I got the same results! Which is odd because it says in the info the stream is running on a proscan server. I guess I will have to wor with the server owner.

Got any tips on which direction I should point him?

No problem

I don't have any idea on how to get alpha tags streaming with proscan, you'll definitely have to talk to the feed provider.
