Default Rookie Question

Hello RR,

Looking to start my own live feed. But problem is, I'm totally new to this and have no idea where to start. I would like to do a live feed off of my PSR500, is this possible? What equipment & software would I need? Are there any legal issues of broadcasting live feeds (like maybe a department would be upset if they found out?). Only looking to broadcast main channels, not any secondary bands.

Just looking for some advice on how to set up a live feed. Always been interested in doing this b/c I've listened to them online for a long time and thought it would be nice to share my area's radio traffic with other online enthusiasts.

Thanks.

You need your scanner, a cable to connect your headphone jack to the line in of your computer, and well of course a computer. You can use Oddcast or Scannercast or one of the many other streaming software packages.

We also have a Live Audio Wiki:Live Audio - The RadioReference Wiki

That lists some of the broadcasting methods.

I use the Barix Instreamer 100 for my streams.
