Default Broadcasting text tags for your feed how to.....

I have an older non dma scanner the bc 245t that I use for my Clearwater pd broadcast. After trying a number of configurations and different software with no success I finally found a system that works to send text tags along with your broadcast.
Here is how to do it....
Download the following software....
Simplecast form SpacialAudio Solutions, LLC - SimpleCast
this is not free
download Metadata Generator serproxy comes with the download from Suffolk County NY PD - 6th Pct.
free
set up Metadata and serproxy as written in the instructions.
Place your server info from rr into Simplecast and your done.
Hope this helps.

The old ScanCapeCod setup worked just fine for me before, which is basically what you're describing.

Now on the flip side, my old feeds ran for months between reboots (I don't think it ever actually crashed) with no problems whatsoever, when people connected directly to my computer. Now, I can't make it 24 hours without both feeds crashing. I read a post about Simplecast having issues with streaming titles where the server is not on the same computer as Simplecast. Basically, it caused high CPU cycles because of the back-forth communication needed to push the tags.

Both of my simplecast feeds would crash and show 100% CPU usage. I just turned off streaming tags, and the initial results look promising, but it's too early to tell if this is the solution I need.

I'm using a dedicated Dell 1Ghz, 512 megs RAM, to run 2 feeds.

Anyone else run into these types of problems? I've been tempted to go back to my old setup and not stream to RR, but I like the premium access. I don't think I deserve the premium access, though, if I can't provide a reliable, stable, feed.
