Feed Quality

I am having problems improving my feed quality, I have increased the bitrate on scannercast, uninstalled AVG, closed most of my useless programs. If anyone could listen to the Toronto, Ontario, Canada Police feed, trying to figure out a way to improve it!

Here is the setup that we use for our feed covering the Edmonton Fire Rescue Services. We broadcast using Edcast.

Bitrate - 16
Samplerate - 22050
Channels 1
Encoder Type - MP3

The other settings are server specific. We broadcast to our shoutcast server and Radio Reference relays the feed from there.

Hope this at least helps to point you in a direction.

I Agree with the above. And lower your scanners audio level a tad so it doesn't overmodulate.
