Recording software that won't fill my hard drive.

I plan to remotely run a BCD996XT at a remote location over I.P. using approprate software. I would like to record ALL radio traffic... but only for five minutes at a time. In other words, I could go back and only listen to the last five minutes.. Or last fifteen minutes.. or whatever amount of time I predetermine.

Does anyone know of a software that will do that? Especially if the scanner is in a remote location?

I'm also interested if anyone knows of software that will do that even if the scanner isn't remote.. Like the one in my living room?

I personally use my BCD996XT with bcTool+ paired with a 2TB hard drive I got off tigerdirect for $80. Works real nice, and since I just got this setup a week ago, I only have about 25GB recorded so far....
