Andy,
I am using v52a and just ran into an issue. A set of tones was detected, but no email was ever sent. Almost all other tone sets are working fine. Here is the output from the status window of the application itself:
Code:
Email Sent!
Unknown (Jamestown Fire?) page recieved at 10:01:33
Thorntown/Sugar Creek Fire page recieved at 10:00:54
Witham Medics page recieved at 10:00:48
Email Sent!
Email Sent!
And here is the debug output:
Code:

I'm venturing to guess it's because of the question mark in the description of this tone set. Do you have any other thoughts?
Thanks!

I think you're correct. Try removing the question mark, I think it'll work then.
Also, I've pulled v53b because I found another bug. I'll repost it when I get it fixed and tested a little better.

I had some problems using / in my description field which is understandable.
Replaced it with a hyphen and all was good.

I'm having issues. No mp3 or email. This program looks like it could be a lot better than the old...I esp like the stacked paging.

It's not able to run ffmpeg to convert the WAV file to MP3 or AMR format. Make sure that ffmpeg.exe is in the same folder as the program. It could also be a problem with the naming of the WAV file, which is based on your tone description. Make sure you're not using any strange characters in the tone description that might cause file name issues.

Hey, is it possible to disable all audio recording and email features for this program? I need nothing more than the command execution (run a program on tone detection) for my use.

You can't disable the recording, but you can set the record length to something really short like .1 seconds. If you leave the mp3_emails and amr_emails fields blank or omit them in the tones.cfg file, the program won't send any emails. You'll end up with a bunch of .1 second long WAV files in the /audio directory, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

Ah, think you could add the ability to disable recording the audio? I'm sure there might be others who don't need it also.

I could, but I don't see a reason to. Is there some reason that recording the audio makes the program unusable for you?

Has anyone put this program into full time service yet? My beta testing is working flawlessly now and I don't see any reason why not to put it into service.
Also, Andy, could you please capitalize Page Received again in the new version...thanks.

I have v53 up and going and had one issue with it right after installing it. Made some adjustments and so far it is working very well. Andy made the changes that I was needing due to false paging and so far it is working very well. Everyone in our county loves it and is very happy with how the program is running.

Andy,
I know you pulled 53b, I never got around to taking it out of testing, I never ran 53 or 53a but 53b is the first python version that has not locked up my Echolink Ham radio program using Com 3 a USB adapter.
I have had it running since the day you posted it, only listening for one department.

Theoretical Question
I have a spare fire pager, you think I could use it activate the ttd software?
It's a minitor II which has the 2.5mm earpiece which I could hook to the computer. Have to find one of them old ear buds somewhere........then I can test.
I know that when its open the tones will play, but I'm not sure if the beeping will interfere.
The reason I am asking is I would like to free up my scanner to host more frequencies like Kingston Fire etc.

I use an old Minitor II with the tone reeds removed (so it will not alert anymore) to monitor the channel and feed Two Tone Detect and it works great.

Did you just have this laying around? If not, it would seem like an old scanner would be easier.

I have about 10 that work just laying around and another 9 that don't work. When we switched to Minitor V's the old II's just went into my parts drawer. I don't have scanners laying around and it was a free receiver already tuned to the frequency I needed. So yes it was just laying around.

Got mine up & running on XP 32-bit no problem. Gonna let it run & see what happens when our pager test rolls around. How hard would it be to add a feature to cutoff the recording during another set of tones? Our dispatch is set up to set our pagers off first, announce the call, then set off another set of tones for the siren, how hard would it be to add that as well as a backup timer?

This is my case as well no old scanners lying around but lots of pagers.
I have the pager hooked up and it works well. Getting a bit of an echo but probably due to radio feed which is hooked to my scanner also running. I have the pager on left channel for ttd and radio feed on the right channel for the stream. I have the playback during record checked maybe this is causing the echo? Anyway I am very happy with the results.
What an amazing group we have here.
