NO, NO, NO, NO!

This software is NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR PAGERS. Using it as such is playing with fire. It is NOT mission-critical grade software, and any system that relies on commercial wireless (cell phone and text messaging) for messaging runs the risk of delayed or dropped messages.

Buy the pagers. This software is for SECONDARY alerting and hobbyist use only.

Are those lines in color of any concern? It's recording and emailing fine, it just won't play what its recording. I've watched the sound mixer graphs and it looks like its not playing.

I have not played with this. I will try to take a look next time I am at the console.

I believe that by default the Mic in (and sometimes audio in) do not play back to the audio output as it would cause horrible echoing. You should be able to change this in the audio props for windows. This allows me to here whatever is being fed to the box, but is not only during recording. (I know of a commercially available product simply mutes\unmutes the speakers to play back during recording). This method for me only allows play back over the same audio device, as I have multiple cards.

I was not able to get the "playback during record" option to do anything for me. No matter how it was set, the system audio config (main and input volume playback levels) controlled the audio.

The colored lines aren't a problem, but the unhandled exception is. I'm not sure what's causing that, I've never seen it before. That might explain both of the problems you're having, but I don't have any ideas on how to fix it.

ffexpCP - where is the .bat file for the after recording? I had to place it on the root of the C:\ Drive before it would work. EXP: c:\firecall.bat

I also have a question / request depending on what the answer is...

So I am using a .bat file to run after the recording that runs a SQL command that pushes a bunch of data into a SQL database. Then the SQL database send the email out. The program does not seem to work if you do not put in an email address or a functioning email account in the main config file. Is there a way around this? Can it be an option in the future to not provide email info if there isnt a work around?

I was wondering if there was a way to add name tags to each email and phone number address. That way I don't have to keep a separate list next to the computer.

I didn't see the 'unhandled exception' before you pointed it out. I guess I was distracted/paranoid about the bright colors showing up.

Anyway, I figured out how to copy and paste from the debug, I hope it helps more than the limited screenshot.

Thanks for an excellent program. And my apologies if I should have started a new thread.

I'm trying to set up a secondary notification system for my County HAZMAT team to message phones when members are out of pager range.

I'm working with the older version at this time. I can detect pages, create the .wav file, but cannot send e-mail. I first tried using Outlook to link to our GMail account, but it would not work. Our account is setup accordingly for external access via STMP/POP3.

Yesterday I set up Thunderbird to access our GMail account and was successful. So I'm certain the STMP access is correct. I used the same parameters in TwoTone and still cannot send the page file.

Would appreciate if someone could get back to me with troubleshooting info. Since we rely on volunteers who work out of pager range, this program would solve a problem.

What is the output in the debug window when you receive a page? If you can paste that here it would be helpful.

Well, I was afraid it wasn't working because of a sound card driver issue, so I took the extreme step of removing all but one sound card, reformatting and putting a fresh install of Windows7 on the computer.

Still cannot get playback during recording. Ugh.

It's running all .bat files now though.

It's not liking something with the SMTP connection, but I'm not sure what. Gmail seems to work well for most people, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Are you behind a firewall that may restrict that traffic for some reason? If it's working with Thunerbird thought I would think it would work with this program too.

This sounds awesome. But I think my FD uses a single PL tone, and not a two-tone dispatch.

Hello. First off great program.

Has anyone else experienced this? I change the bit rate for mp3 as I would like higher audio quality.

However it seems that no matter what bit rate is specified, it gets encoded at 32000. Upon investigation, I get the following warning in the debug window during the compression scheme:

I copied ffmpeg to a separate directory along with a wav file. When I run the command:
ffmpeg -i Test.wav -b 32000 Test.mp3
I get the same error

If I pass it as:
fmpeg -i Test.wav -b:a 32000 Test.mp3
Everything seems to work with no warning and depending on the specified bitrate, the quality of the audio changes.

Maybe this is a newer version of ffmpeg than the software was designed for and the -b was changed to -b:a in an upgrade?

I looked at the Python code and it seems it just passes the -b

Suggestions?
