If it's detecting the tone set, it should also send the email. The special characters in the tone description are probably the issue, although I'm not sure why it worked for you at all that way.

Stacked (back to back) pages may require a bit of tweaking of the settings, particularly if you have tone sets the use the same tone frequencies in different orders (A-B/B-A,, etc.). The safest bet is to set Btonelength to the actual B tone length and set Btonedebounce to 2.

Do you mean a text notification on the screen or to a phone/device? I think maybe an option time have a command execute on exit would provide the most flexibility? However this would only work on a 'nice' shutdown as if the exe it terminated how would it know or have the ability to notify. You would need a separate watchdog process for that on a different device I think.

First off, thank you for the software. I've been using it for years and everything has been working great. I just switched to the new version and everything is working great with this one as well.

I do have one request. The MP3 files coming from the software are Stereo. When analizing them with Audacity, only one channel actually has audio. The other channel is dead noise.

Is there any way we could get the software to output these as Mono to cut the file size down to allow for faster e-mailing?

Something like that is only possible if it's properly closed, not if the computer or program is powered off instantly. You would need a 3rd party service to do it otherwise.

I did find a program that emails when the computer is restarted and so far seems to work ok. It works in conjunction with task scheduler. It is a command line based program. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

So I have taken out the special & charcter that was in my tone settings. It seemed to work ok for a little bit, then Monday when our pager messages go out it never sent email , got home today and checked PC and the last 9 received pages were recorded and time stamped in two tone detect but not one of them was sent by email, none of the had the Email Sent! Message after each or any line.

Any more suggestions?

I use scannercast and a RR feed to let me know if the computer, or network goes offline.

At my broadcasting job, I use transmitter control software that requires a password to close the program. Maybe TTD could employ that method to ensure someone doesn't accidentally close the program.

For starters, run the debug version of the program, TwoToneDetect_debug.exe. This will run a second window that shows what the program is doing. Very helpful for solving these types of problems. Then copy and paste the section where it detected but didnt send the email ito a post here

Based on the error, it says its a username or password issue. In the error it has the following website: https://support.google.com/mail/bin/...n&answer=78754

The website states if you know your username and password are correct but its still not working, you should log into the web site for gmail and this should resolve it.

I logged into gmail with the username and password that i have provided within twotone detect, My port and smtp settings are correct .

Something worth note maybe is when i logged into the gmail website i had to input a security phrase - i wonder if this is what was affecting the email portion of twotone detect

If you were prompted with a captcha, this would normally mean that there were a number of failed login attempts. Any further attempts without validation would be rejected as you saw.
