And I can't fit the tone editor on the screen also...
Thanks for all you do.

No, if you're not profiting from it, that's not commercial use. I don't even mind people charging a nominal fee or asking for donations to cover their own expenses of computers, radios, internet access, electricity, etc. Covering expenses is not the same as profiting.
Sorry about the tone editor...if you up your screen resolution you should be able to make it fit, but I know that's a bad solution.

Thanks - and still wanting to make a donation. Just let me know how.
Also, I got my issue with 5.7 handled, just a simple matter of turning up the input. Now it records a wav file and sends out the emails.

Just installed everything and when I go to open the program a box pops up for a split second and disappears and nothing happens. Any ideas?

Try this:
Instead of double-clicking on the program to start it, start it from a command prompt. Run the TwoToneDetect57_debug.exe version from there. Then if it gives an error you'll be able to see the error without everything disappearing.

Did you unzip the files? It won't run from within the .zip file.

Andy,
Thanks so much for all the work you've put into this. I've assisted several departments in setting up their own copy, and they are insanely happy with the results.
The remote file hosting is a great idea - Does TwoToneDetect refresh the tone sets at any interval, or do you have to manually shut down the program and restart it?
Also, could the file encryption be integrated into the new Editor application?

It updates the email addresses every time a tone set is detected, but all other information is only refreshed during a restart.

Yeah it could be. I'm a little conflicted about what the future of the Editor should be. I'm toying with eventually scrapping it in favor of something written in PHP so that the editing could also be web-based, but I'm not sure about the viability of a stand-alone PHP application (for those that aren't hosting the file on the web), I've never messed with that before.

What about a Java application? You could run it from the web or locally. Although I do like the PHP idea, as far as I know, running a PHP script locally isn't exactly an easy task.

I did unzip the files. I did not have any speakers or radio plugged into my computer. That's why it did not open. I am running TwoToneDetect56 on my WinXP computer. It works great. Trying to set up TwoToneDetect57 on my Win7 computer. I finally got the program to open. It's recognizing the A tone but not the B tone. I have configured everything the same from my XP computer. This is what my screen says:
Successfully retrieved local tone info

747.0 Atone1
747.0Atone2
A Tone Found! 20:19:03
Checking for B Tone 20:19:03
Checking for B Tone2 20:19:05
Checking for Long Tone 20:19:05
I only have one A tone and one B tone. I don't have a long tone. My B tone is 789.0. I have tried different settings, etc. with no luck. Any ideas? Thanks.

What do you have Btonelength set to? Also make sure you have the volume up high enough...it could be that the A tone is loud enough to trigger but the B tone isn't, although that's unlikely with tones that close in frequency.

Any reason you have it so short? If it's a standard Motorola tone set try 3 seconds for Btonelength and see if that helps.

v58 Released
Hi everyone, I just posted v58 on the project page. If you've been having trouble with stacked tones, give this version a try, I found some pretty significant flaws with certain tone combinations that hopefully are now fixed. The Btonedebounce and Longtonedebounce haven't been working as I had originally thought they were, I think this version gets them closer to correct operation.
Version 58 Release Notes: - Fixed a bug with the Long Tone detection that was preventing stacked pages after a long tone from being decoded
- Fixed a bug with Btonedebounce and Longtonedebounce that was causing some stacked pages to be missed
- Added variable substitution for alert_command and post_email_command strings: Enter [d] to insert the current Tone Description, enter [mp3] to insert the mp3 filename, [amr] to insert the AMR filename, [wav] to insert the WAV filename (all paths relative to program directory)
- Audio recordings are now single channel (mono) instead of stereo in preparation for left/right audio selection capability to be added later
- Program now creates a temporary log file of the debug output called log.txt. This file is overwritten each time the program starts.
Thanks,
Andy

Ken,
What are you using for the Btonelength and Btonedebounce settings?
Are you running the two versions off of the same sound card at the same time? That could be an issue.

Btonelength = .6 (from the original config why back when)
Btonedebounce is not defined for the tone sets.
I did update a few tone sets to Btonelength = 2 as you suggested for another issue a few posts back. I am still waiting for tones to see if that helps.
I am running two copies off the same sound card, but do not expect an issue here as I have been doing it for a few weeks playing with the different versions. when I noticed the issue this AM, I was only running v58.

Andy,
Testing 58 just to me while running 56 to all others, so far just as reliable as 56, Just wanted to say the tone editor and the other adds are a real plus. Thank you.
