Looking for the easiest way to record from the Pro-197 to a Windows 7 or Windows Vista computer. I have a 1/8" audio cable.

I searched this site and found "Scanner Recorder" which seems fairly straightforward.. I have the software downloaded and it seems to record when squelch breaks, but there is no intelligible audio on the recording. I have adjusted the software's squelch level and the scanner's volume knob, with no luck. This has consumed the last three hours of my day, I know there has to be something silly that I am overlooking or flat out doing wrong.

I also downloaded and attempted to use ID Tracker III, which I have had zero luck with. It will recognize the scanner and show that it is monitoring audio but, I cannot hear anything or seem to get anything (not even squelch) to record.

Any suggestions? Also, is there is different piece of software that I should be trying?
