Thumbs up Proscan is great software

I have just started using the proscan software with my 796 and it work's great.I think the format is better than any other out there only if it would support more models of scanners i think it would be very popular software..

Now IF this software was able to stream to say a shoutcast/icecast server and change the meta data tags in say winamp when a freq is being used I would buy it in about 10 seconds. I've been looking for a all in one solution for programming, recording the streaming to my icecast server.

Any thoughts on being able to add the ability to stream a BC246T using this program.

Now that I finally got the client working and am able to see/hear how it actually sounds with the streams that are available using this now, this looks pretty good.

I tried to register on their forum page and received an error. I received a SQL error when I tried to post as a guest. below is the question I was going to post.

will there be future support for Uniden BCD396T and BCD996T? there is another application that is apparently adding support for these to units but the cost of the current version is $400. the cost of ProScan is a lot better.

After fighting with other programs I use Simplecast and wavestreaming that offers Shoutcast and finally got it set up. Very simple and worked the first time. But I don't know if it will do meta data tags as I don't know how to set it up but I'm working on that. It will work with all my scanners..Cheers..Keithmj

The problem with registering and posting on the ProScan forum is probably due to Bob being on vacation. Last time he left the board got spammed big time.
Streaming programs and ProScan are not mutually exclusive. I feed Shoutcast, ProScan and TeamSpeak simultaneously. I am often out on other ISPs and when one port is blocked another may be open.
Bob has promised that the 996 will be supported shortly after he returns from vacation. I am keeping my fingers crossed on that one, although I'll probably only use it for local control and programming rather than streaming as that scanner goes with me when I travel.

I've been running Simplecast and Icecast for a few weeks now (see http://scancapecod.us/livescan/feed_tutorial.pdf) and as of last night, I am also running Proscan. Just put them on different ports. See www.firestormphoto.com/scanner for information on my feed. I'm even running an embedded Windows Media Player on that page.

I don't know what the problem could have been with your registration because mine went right through last week. However, I didn't get a confirmation e-mail like I'm supposed to.
