an LTR controller.
The repeater will have to be one that has a low frequency filter bypass, thus allowing the controller to insert the low-frequency data stream into the TX audio. Typically a "PL Bypass", depends on the radio however. What kind of repeater is it?

The icom website shows "Accessory connector (D-sub 25-pin) on the rear panel for trunking controller including LTR, PassPort, SmarTrunkΙΙ and MPT1327 "
So, it should work out, all you need is an LTR controller. Zetron makes some good ones you can find on eBay easily and often cheap. Programming is pretty easy too and can probably even be done via DTMF.

Zetron is the last brand I'd look for. No offense, just my opinion, I've worked with them all for a long time. An el cheapo CSI should work fine for your app, or a Trident Raider.
Again, no offense Josh, but I've installed countless zetron controllers, and...well...they suck.

I agree, Zetron would be my last choice.

I agree also regarding Zetron controllers.
A Trident controller or Kenwood controller (Rebadged Trident Controller) followed by a CSI Controller.
I find the CSI controllers a real PITA to program compared to the Trident / Kenwood controllers but it might just be a personal preference.
