Default Motorola Central Controller error decoding

Does anyone know of a program that will decode the Diagnostic error codes of the Central Controller. I have multiple error codes each time I log into my system and I still have trouble using the system managers operating manual to decode these errors.

Thanks,

I wish. I've never seen it, if it exists. Even the new MTC3600 controller puts out the same error format. I would have expected that Motorola could have it giving errors in plain english, by now. You're pretty much stuck with using the manual to decode what the controller's trying to tell you. If you post what your errors are, I can try & decipher it for you.

Default Controller Error

I know there is somekind of program out there. I had a radio shop come out and use a program to decode all the errors. I just don't know what the program is and I haven't been able to get back in touch with the technician who came out.

If you ever get your hands on it, give me a shout. That would be a sweet program to have. I have a few others to trade, such as a program to convert paging tones to the Centracom hex equivalent. Or a script for ProcommPlus to automatically set-up the newest Paradyne modems Motorola uses for various things. Little things to make life easier. Let me know.

You need to contact one of the old time FTR's they did have a program many years ago (actually Excel sheet) that allowed you to input the code and it took you to the correct line.

If you use (upgrade you'll be very happy) Site Lens, it has a translate table built in. The codes are not very hard to figure out, you just need to be in the right section of the manual to get them worked out.

Default possible help

I use a Motorola program call "SMT (system manager terminal)" to decode all of my errors from the trunking controller (Smartnet II). I you want, email me the error code and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks,
We have one at Genesis, it's called EzSaveII. We're in process of updating it to EzSaveWindows. It will do 6809 and MTC3600 controllers. We did a full database of all DIAG permutations. We're also going to be adding DIAG decoding to our Control Channel archiving product, GenWatch3. Even Motorola engineers have used EzSaveII over the years to help with DIAG decoding!
