Default PUll down Menus...

I might be the only one who would prefer this but I would really like the pull down menu's to have a MouseOver command so i don't actually have to click on it to see my options, i just mouseover and pull down menu comes down and then i just click on where i want to go.

just a though, thanks for all the had work put into 4.0 guys!

You are right on target - I'm investigating moving to that. Because of my current implementation and style (with graphics etc) - there are some technical problems that are preventing me from getting mouseover working properly.

If you are familiar with YUI (Yahoo's User Interface), which is the Javascript library in use here, you can read about my issue here:

Yahoo! Groups

If you can solve this problem - I'd be indebted. I'll even toss in a 2 year premium subscription to the person with the solution.

I don't care for the menus that drop down without a click because they get in the way too easily when I'm mousing around.

I see that you got this solved. Did you get something from someone here, the Yahoo grp, or did you figure it out on your own?

I went to a new library for the menus - away from YUI - and saved everyone about 200K (uncompressed) here in the forums.

Lindsay,

When I'm in the forums now, the drop down does not appear at all; either by hovering over the menu headers or by clicking on them.

Me too. They work on the Home Page but not from the Forum Page. The only link to work on the top blue bar is Home and Submit.

All menus on the Home Page work with mouse over.

I've got it fixed for now... except I'm working on a problem between these new menus and the location helper gmap. More to follow.

I would like to see a (new posts) option under the Forums pull down menu if possible.

Mancow - the "Today's Posts" link I believe accomplishes that.

Any chance we'll see an increase from a max. of 20 pages when going to new posts?
Looks like the forums are hitting 20 pages in about 36 hours.
