Default Premium Subscribers - Feedback Requested

Ok guys, for those of you that are premium subscribers - I'm looking to focus on some additional personalization features.

Currently on the list is to allow Premium Subscribers to set their preferred "input frequencies" display preference.

What others would you like to see?

Now, don't say theme or colors, because we cant do that right now. But, I would like to hear about some of the items you would like to get defaults for so I can provide a better user experience and easy of navigation etc.

Hi Lindsay,

One thing I would like to see is email notifications for updates of MyRR entries.

Smile Two ideas

One of the things people have talked about is being able to select which forums appear when "new posts" is selected. Some might want to exclude tavern sub-forums while some might want to include them.

Another idea; currently, when you are at RR home, a list is displayed of counties & agencies that are on a "watch list". Agencies that have changed within the past 7 days are shown in yellow. When a change is made to something on my watch list, I'd rather receive an email notifying me of the change.

Thanks

I'd like to focus on the database, not the forums....

I like the idea of being able to set the preference of input freqs. I'll comment more on Premium Subscribers elsewhere.

Not really a personalization feature and this was mentioned on another thread I believe.
I think I will be speaking for us Canadians, is to have the secondary maps to show us the counties/cities after clicking on a Province.

Some of my favorites are on my RR already (Would love to have the email feature by the way) but would love to have the county maps to quickly glance at whats been updated.

I don't know if this is a huge job to do, is there anything that we Canadians can do to help the process?.

Thanks Lindsay and RR admins for all your hard work and time.

Is it possible to have the "Advanced Search Options" under the database automatically expand?

The ability to set my preferred county and metro area in the database would be nice.

Or RSS feeds for the MyRR systems. I would think sending out e-mails to every subscriber to that system could tax the server more than just giving it an RSS feed and having the user put it into their RSS reader if they really wanted the updates.

I am not sure that this is true. RSS feeds for MyRR systems for all premium members would be a constant drain on the server. Emails about changes, especially if they were limited to a single notification per day (collect changes, notify all overnight) is almost nothing, kind of like forum subscriptions vs thread subscriptions. Both can have emails, but forum information is only sent (at most) once a day, whereas thread subscriptions are sent out within minutes of a change in a subscribed thread, the latter is much more resource intensive.

Both of these are definitely do-able and aren't that resource intensive. I'm doing some homework on the implications though.

I haven't been on here long enough to suggest any improvements, but I dare say this is one of the best forums I have ever been on and the database is great!

I'd like to have the ability to hide various agencies. For example, I dont really want to listen to local hospitals or school buses etc.. Having the ability to hide those and focus on Police, Fire, EMS would limit the page size I like to see and make it easier for me to find what Im looking for.

I will add my vote for the email notifications and the clickable counties on Province maps.

Although I don't know what your relationship is with "scanner audio feed sites", it would be nice to have the ability to link a System name with a specific feed so I could just "click and listen". If the user was able to pick independently, it wouldn't be an endorsement of that site or feed by RR.

Guess that's more of a wishlist thing...

I would like to be able to "Watch" only certain agencies under a specific TRS. For instance on the large trunked systems that I travel through once per month, I don't program in all the miscellaneous agencies, only PD, FD, EMS. I'd like to be able to "watch" a certain agency within a TRS to see if changes are made rather than having to go compare in the database or "watch" the whole TRS on my home screen.

It just seems it would be a little easier- especially than trying to scroll through the whole TRS DB page, only to see that the wastewater treatment plant got a new talkgroup.
