Thumbs up What Makes Rad Ref So Great?

The brilliant work by Maestro Blandon and all the other moderators and gurus? Yes...
The best frequency database anywhere? Yes...
But the best thing about Rad Ref is the community of members who help each other out.

I bought a 396T off the Rad Ref For Sale forum for $250, about half the price they're currently going for at ScannerMasters or even Ebay. I sent the money sight unseen to someone I'd never met, thousands of miles away, and got a like new scanner in perfect condition back lightning fast. That's good people!

Then I posted a question about an Ebay programming service, that offered to program a 396T for $40. I get a reply from another Rad Ref member, saying he'll do it for FREE. I send him my brand new radio and $20 to cover shipping, hoping he'll keep any extra money left over for his time and trouble taking it to the P.O., not to mention the programming. I get the radio back a few days later, along with the extra $10, and an Excel spread telling me every system and TG he'd loaded. He even updated my scanner to the latest firmware. Now, That's a good man! And of course, he did a great job.

It sure makes me proud to be a part of the Rad Ref community, and this proves it IS a community.
If only the rest of the world was as trustworthy, generous and respectable as Rad Ref...
