Default Logon, posting and reply issues.

I'm having the following issues (probably just me).

1. I logon at the Home page and then go to a Discussion group and try to post or reply, I am prompted to logon again. What's really weird is that while I am typing my reply the top of the page shows my username as logged in. Also, when I click on submit or preview I get a message saying I'm not logged in. So, I log in again. Sometimes my message posts others times it just disappears (really annoying).

2. I logon at the Home page, it shows me logged in. If I click on notifications and unread messages I get prompted to log in again.

I think the same thing happens when I go from Home to Databases, I get prompted to log in again.

It will probably happen when I try to post this message.

Thanks.

Are you guys logging in to:

- or http://forums.radioreference.com/ ?

I accidentally typed the last URL manually to get to the site one day - mixing up the path for getting directly to forums on another site. I was able to log in, but when the site refreshed, it was on the second of the list above, and my login info wasn't properly cached.

As always, I suggest getting rid of your cookies for *.radioreference.com and blowing out your cache, then logging in again "fresh".

Hi,

You don't mention what browser you're using, but I started another thread on this topic.

It turned out to be related to an update to Firefox from a couple of weeks ago that corrupted my cookies database.

Not sure if you're also using FF but that could be related to your problem.

I'm using IE8 (current production version, not a beta) and access using url "www.radioreference.com".

I logon from that Home page and navagate by clicking on the Lables at the top of the page. Home, Database, Forums, Wiki, etc...

When I exit IE8 my history, cookies, etc.. are erased. So each time I open IE8 and go to a web site they are downloaded again.

It's interesting that you're having the same problem I was having, but I was having it in Firefox.

I would check your security settings. It sounds like you're dumping the session info when the browser is closed. I believe that is actually an option in IE8. Additionally, it is a feature of the "InPrivate" browsing.
