Default RadioReference 4.1 Beta Test

Interested in being a beta tester and seeing how the conversion of ScanAmerica to RadioReference is going to happen?

Head on over to:

http://web1.radioreference.com

When your browser prompts you to login, enter the following credentials:

- Username: preprod
- Password: rrfun08x

If you had an account on RadioReference.com prior to May 30th, 2009, you can then login to the site as yourself.

Please note that this is a beta site - so we are looking for your help in how things are integrated, and problems and errors you experience, and overall usability feedback. Please read each of these notes below carefully for information on how to help us out:

1) This beta site is running a copy of the RadioReference database from May 30th 2009. Therefore, all forums posts, frequency data, etc are all "frozen in time" from May 30th, 2009.

2) You will see a new Live Audio menu item on the top menu bar. You can browse live audio feeds that are currently available on the beta site.

3) We have not yet converted the existing production live audio feeds from ScanAmerica just yet. We will do that when we go live on June 21st, 2009.

4) If you are interested in testing the broadcasting, feed down notifications, and feed provider management components, you can go ahead and apply to broadcast a feed using the method that will go into production on June 21st. To apply to broadcast a test feed on the beta site, follow these steps:

- Make sure you are logged into to the site
- Click the ACCOUNT link at the top of the page to access your account
- Click "My Live Audio Feeds"
- Click the "Apply to Broadcast a feed" button

Note that we do not recommend you broadcast a feed to the Beta site unless you are interested in testing and seeing the feed management components. In addition, please do not broadcast a feed to the beta site from any of your production broadcast equipment that is currently sending feeds to ScanAmerica - we don't want you to impact the feeds that are currently live in production.

if you've never broadcaster a scanner before, and want to give it a try, feel free to fill out a feed application and we'll get the process going so you can test it out.

5) Once you have a live feed approved on the beta site, you'll be able to test feed management functions. You'll notice icons available such as "feed owner page" and other features.

Until we can get formal documentation in place, please take a few moments to poke around, get familiar with the new setup. This is a complete fully functional broadcasting and archiving setup for testing.. so don't hesitate to give it a run through. And don't hesitate to ask questions. Also don't forget, this is a beta site, so we will be making changes and updates. If something isn't working quite right, be patient with us as we work through standard beta stuff.

We want to hear your constructive feedback - let us know what questions you have by posting in this thread or emailing us directly at:

audio@radioreference.com

Thanks for your support, and Gordon and I look forward to your feedback.

Warm regards,

Lindsay

Go on there, apply to broadcast the feed and give it a test. I'd like to run the application -> approval -> online process

Once we go live we'll just issue you a new setup package and you'll be good to go.

I'm broadcasting an alternate Hillsborough County NH feed... and the procedure was straight forward.

Nice interface. Pleasant. Clear. Easy.

A couple of small "issues" I'm noticing on the management interface (using Chrome by the way) -- These aren't complaints. They're beta feedback that's meant to be helpful:

1) Navigating through the pages (such as the links from My Audio, "Feed Provider Details", "Feed Owner Page", and "Additional Details") -- These seem to always pop-up into new windows, which isn't particularly helpful or what I'd expect.

2) The additional information (in the FCKEditor box) at the bottom of the "My Live Audio Feeds" page, seems to add an extra <CR><LF> between each entered line.

The feed forwarding, etc, seems to be working great!

Looks great guys!

When applying for a feed and choosing my country(Canada) works fine. When choosing my state (Ontario) I only see a 1/4 of the box, using the laptop with Vista.

Desktop running XP, all the fields are showing up fine. Don't know if its on my end but just pointing this out.

Other then that everything is working great.

Good feedback Ron - I see some bugs on the chooser that need to be fixed.

The archives don't appear to be correct, at least for my feed. In choosing today (15 June) 7:56 - 8:11PM, I'm getting an airport feed...

Looks great and what an awesome deal, freqs and online scanners in a one stop web site.

How about an option to set a default player. I think it rocks you have options to listen on a player of your choice though. Just be cool if we could set like iTunes to be my default player.

This place ROCKS!!

It would be nice if each feed indicated whether tags were provided as part of the feed. I'm a big tag fan, personally.

Same here, for some reason

perhaps as we are both "Members" but not "premium" status?

Did you guys carefully read through the email?

Where are you not able to login? When first going to the site (pop-up login), or when logging into the portal?
