Membership Renewal - Credit Card

I have been trying to renew my membership this am with a credit card and keep getting the below message.

"The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number."

Can I get some insight as to why I get this message?

Oh - BTW - its a Visa card so not sure if that makes any difference.

It could be a number of things - but i know Paypal doesn't allow payments from Government credit cards, and many types of gift/pre-paid cards.

Hi Lindsay & thanks for the response.

I was not using the paypal option but was using the direct credit card option.

I use this credit card on a regular basis and have not had any problems with it with other transactions
but I suppose it could be some security feature related to online bill payments as this is the first time
I have tried to use it with my RR renewal.

Just tried a different visa card with the same results.

EDIT: I think it is a paypal account problem - they suck big time.

I have never had a time when there was not a problem with my paypal account so i guess its business as usual.

Are there any other online alternatives to paypal?

The only alternative at this time would be to mail in a check.

There is a section on this page which has the address. Shoot me an email when you mail the check and I'll credit your account.

OK - thanks much.

NOTE: I hope there will be an alternative to paypal in the future cause i am done with that crapola.

Sorry but I can not seem to locate your email address.

I mailed out the check payment today.
