Default No Patience :)

Here is a fun one...

I received all these emails in the span of 30 minutes today. 30 minutes, on a Saturday.

Quote:
Received at 1:14 PM

First, it bumped me off.
Second, I couldn't get it to acknowledge my password.
I created a new account with the username of [name withheld] and my password. It STILL will NOT allow me to log on and take part in a thread I started! My old username was just plain [name withheld]

I tried the "can't remember password" page and only got 404, can't be displayed.

Am I off these forums for good or what?!

Please help!

Thanks

[name withheld]

Oh well, forget it. I'll just stay gone. If that's the kind of help I get in getting a new password when I have forgotten the old one, I don't need it!

Will you help me get back on or not? My original username AGAIN was [name withheld]. I COULD NOT RECALL MY PASSWORD WHEN BUMPED OFF. I TRIED THE 'CAN'T REMEMBER PASSWORD' PAGE BUT ONLY GOT 404 CAN'T BE DISPLAYED. I CREATED A NEW ACCOUNT WITH [name withheld] AS MY USERNAME. IT STILL WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO LOG IN! WILL YOU HELP ME, OR DO I JUST FORGET EVER PARTICIPATING IN THE FORUMS AGAIN? IF NOT, THEN I WILL GET WORD OUT ON RADIOREFERENCE AS TO HOW MEMBERS ARE TREATED! YOUR CALL.
THANKS!

I WAS GOING BY [name withheld]. IT BUMPED ME OFF. I COULDN'T REMEMBER MY PASSWORD. TRIED 'CAN'T REMEMBER PASSWORD?' GOT PAGE 404, CAN'T BE DISPLAYED. I CREATED A NEW ACCOUNT, USERNAME [name withheld] AND PASSWORD. IT STILL WILL NOT ALLOW ME ON. THE WEBMASTER STOPPED REPLYING TO ME, SO HE DOESN'T INTEND TO HELP ME GET BACK IN. CAN YOU?

THANKS!

Why are you doing me this way? I am a long time member, [name withheld] . I have tried to explain to you what has happened! You will NOT reply to me! WHY!? I did create a new account when I saw the password help page wasn't working. [name withheld] is what I used to create the new account to try to get back into a thread I started. Are you ppl this anxious to be rid of long time members?

Why won't you reply and help me!

I am a long time member of Radioreference forums. I go by [name withheld]. I couldn't happen to remember my password, so I tried the help page and got 404, can't be displayed.

I thought creating a new account would help me get back on. I created a new username, [name withheld]. It would NOT let me in on that either.

Now, you are ignoring my emails from the [name withheld] account. Why do you want rid of a long time member? I had started a thread about old frequencies under the Texas monitoring forums.

This whole mess started when I ran Spybot S&D this a.m. It wiped all of my cookies including sites I log on to. Now, I can't get back in to Radioreference, you don't seem to want me back in, so my question is why? None of this is my fault. It was the fault of a bad Spybot S&D scan. All I asked was to be helped to get a new password to get back in to a forum I have been a member of for YEARS!

Please explain yourself! I needed help and you slammed the door in my face. I have enjoyed being on the forums but I don't get being kept out because of an occurrence that was not my fault to begin with.

Sincerely,

See like the original person posting the E-mails I was thinking you never do anything in your life but sit in front of the computer never taking your eyes off of it. I never can figure out how you eat, sleep and well never mind.

Thankfully my email address is not plastered all over the board otherwise I'm sure I'd get my fair share directed at me.

We deal with this on a constant basis. I posted this just to show you how difficult it can be at times to manage this site.

Our team addresses 100's of items every day... and many of them are just like this. Some are just so over the top that I think it is important to show to our community what we have to address all the time.

Never mind the fact we had someone who participated in this thread (emphasis on past tense), who will remain un-named, who decided to push my buttons for the last time.

That guy gave out some of the worst "advice" I've seen around these parts, and he did it way too often...no loss! Keep up the good work and don't let the malcontents get to you.

This type of thing seems to happen on a lot of forums. I think it is because people some how THINK it is their right to be here and be heard, when if fact there is no law or requirement that anyone has to this forum or any other. They forget they are here by invitation you were given permission to be here, it is privilege not a right. It is much like being invited into one house, your welcome until you start saying things contrary to my views or sensibilities, once you over step those bounds, I'm going to kick you out of my house and you won't be invited back and that would be my right. I don't owe you an explanation or have a reason.

This forum or any other is not paid for by tax payer money, so other then the forum owners, you really have no rights, and rightly so. So if you choose and are lucky enough to be invited to a forum your obligated to behave in a way the people that are running it, deem appropriate. Most moderators I know are much more understanding then people give them credit for...

I get a kick out people saying they are not free anymore...lol...I tell them you never were free, we live in a Republic, where your free to choose your elected officials, who will then tell you (by making law) what you can and can not do. If every one was free to do as they wish, that would be anarchy. Forums aren't even a Republic they are dictatorships...hehehe...we choose to be here. So you have no standing to complain, your much better off asking POLITELY for things you want.

Just my .2 cents

Unbelievable. The guy is quite the prolific writer!

I have a family friend who is a former teacher. She once told me that her students' parents would often send her e-mails during the day, then call the school just hours after sending the e-mail to ask why they didn't receive a response. Apparently it didn't occur to them that she couldn't reply to their e-mails because she was busy in the classroom teaching their children.

After digging a little, may I say that you are my hero with this action. See what happens when I take the weekend off, all the fireworks happen.

Oh, thank God it isn't just me.

I arrive nearly every Monday morning to at least one angry follow-up "Why haven't you responded?" when the email was sent sometime Friday night or Saturday.

Of course, 99% of those emails that I neglected to come in to work over the weekend for were questions easily answered by any of dozens of knowledgeable people on these very boards (and not knowing about this site is no excuse, as a fair number of them are initiated through this site's messaging system...).

I note that the instigator of this thread's OCD episode offered up an apology and explanation (stress over wife's illness) in his TX thread.

So, this is all your fault!

You guys do a great job and put up with a lot more than most of us would tolerate.
Most forum managers would have flushed him after the third tirade.

I go days without checking emails sometimes and he expected a reply after 7 minutes?

Whatever...
