Dumb question about thread Subscriptions...

I've looked everywhere except where the answer actually lies.

How do I subscribe to a thread? Am I automatically subscribed when I reply or do I manually set that when I read a thread I have interest in? Will I receive an email update when someone replies to the thread?

Quick Links pulldown under Miscellaneous. You are subscribed when you post or answer. Receiving email settings regarding subscribed postings can be found under User CP, however, I think default is receive emails.

I think I figured it out. It seems I have to go to each thread and look under "Thread tools" and select "Subscribe".

I have yet to receive any email notification without first completing the above. I thought there was an automatic feature, guess not...Maybe I can select it under "additional options" when I initially respond to a thread. I'll have to wait and see. Thanks again.

If you clicked on User CP as I suggested, what did you find in the "Edit Email & Password" button? Set your email address correctly and check Yes.

Also, either edit your last post or when you respond to this post, scroll down to the bottom and select one of the options in the Thread Subscriptions > Notification Type: pulldown.
