Default Attn Developers - Beta Web Service v1.2 needs testing

Attention developers,

Those of you that have developed applications to use the RadioReference.com Web service should take note. I have released version 1.2 of the RadioReference.com Web service on the beta site and it needs testing.

NOTE: This version of the Web service implements no new features - rather it incorporates a number of bug fixes and errata, and is updated to support and translate the new 3.0 database schema release to the old legacy web service calls.

I need developers who write applications against the Web service to test their applications to make sure that the legacy interface still works without coding changes needing to be made to your applications.

Here is a list of some of the items and errata fixed:

1. Translation of the 3.0 database schema format to the legacy Web service interface schema.

2. Fixed ARTCCs not being displayed on a state query.

3. Fixed numerous errors with special character handling.

Please test your apps and let me know if you see any problems or issues. The link for the Web service remains the same except the hostname is different (currently hosted on the beta site)

http://beta.radioreference.com/apps/xml1.1

User your existing rr credentials to authenticate.

After we release the 3.0 site to production, and much of the new 3.0 schema begins to fill out (with tagging and location based data) - I'll be releasing an updated version of the Web service to support a number of new features and functionality. I'll still maintain the legacy Web service for a bit longer after that new release of the Web service.

Thanks developers for your hard work and patience. Your comments and questions are welcome...

Lindsay
