comet antenna

Evening! I have a GP9N antenna and am trying to do some troubleshooting with the antenna itself. The center pin has no continuity to the exposed element but I have continuity on the threads to the element. I’m confused as to what the center pin would be connected to? Thanks for the help!

I currently own a BC346XTC with a Comet Original BNC-W100RX Antenna. I was wondering if the Diamond SRH77CA would be a better option or if anyone has other recommendations. Iam scanning in the 150-160 range and also some in the 400's.

Does anybody have any experience or comments about this antenna? I'm looking to get one for my little mobile and a trunk lip NMO mount for this. I'm just getting tired of the mag mount look. I won't be using a lot of power but I would love if this this has great reception. I generally love...
