Default Cordless Phone Repair

Can anyone steer me to a trouble-shooting guide for cordless telephone repair? As usual, google is not my friend, or I simply lack the skills to navigate through google.

If you don't have it in the literature that came with the phone you're probably SOL.

They are not made to be serviced - just thrown away and replaced.

I once called VTEC to try and obtain service manual or schematic info on one of their
models and got a gasp and denial from the service rep that any such info is not available
to the public and that they have proprietary info in their doc that does not allow for
such public info distribution.

I agree, just buy a new one. Years ago I had a Motorola Secure Clear that I did some minor surgery on to fix an issue, but it was a simple fix.

It's not always an issue of money, but then it could be, and if it is then your response is somewhat insensitive don't you think?

Besides part of often goes along with the radio hobby is electronics in general. Sometimes people like the challenge of trying to fix something, and the satisfaction of being able to do so.

The only economical thing you can fix on them is buying batteries cheap from mouser or Jameco and attaching the old pigtails to the new ones. Anything else, you might as well trash em. (IMHO)

Joe, you've been hanging around N_Jay too long.

Last night, I heard my cell phone singing a song
Ooh-We, Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep
Woke up this morning and my cell phone was gone
Ooh-We, Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep
Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep, Chirp

Where’s your cell phone gone? (Where’s your cell phone gone?)
Little baby Don (Little Baby Don)
Where’s your cell phone gone? (Where’s your cell phone gone?)
Far, far away
