Rounds going off without a trigger pull, never a good thing.
I have owned many S & W firearms and other American guns, but to be honest this type of garbage is why I only buy HK and SIGs these days. It's worth the extra money. The only exception I have made in a while is the American made Keltec .380, but for $260 I couldn't pass it up, especially since it is the smallest centerfire semi-auto in existence, and really gets lost in a pocket, even when wearing gym shorts. And with my CCW permit coming soon I need something that I can carry everywhere all the time.

Your saying American guns are garbage and you are only buying German guns now but the guns that are being recalled are German made guns.
Did I miss something?

Since when was Smith and Wesson German? I understand the original Walther is German but they are now made in the good ole US by S&W.

It's a good thing James Bond got his before S&W messed it up in 2002.

S&W's quality is not what it used to be. I've had a couple new ones that were unreliable right out of the box. One had to go back to the factory for rework.

SIG is nice. I have a Sig Pro 2340 and a Springfield XD-9.
I consider the XD-9 my primary handgun. I like it much better than the Sig. The XD-9 was made in Croatia.

They always made great revolvers but I never liked their semi-auto's - seemed like those aways broke.
Prefered Berretta or Sig

Even though I am pretty sure the synthetic SIGS are made in America, how is it that the you consider the Springfield a better gun than a SIG? Just wondering.
In fairness amost ALL SIGS are made in American now, and as a result I refuse to buy one. I have spent many hours searching gun shops for USED German-made models, which are getting harder and harder to find.
I prefer ones made in the late 90's that were 100% made in Germany. I can always expect 100% reliability and sub-two inch groups at 25 yards with the right ammo.
My favorite is one stamped West Germany (made when there was a West Germany) in .38 super that will shoot 1" groups with 125 grain handloads.
Rather than spend $1000 on a new American-made SIG I would just buy another HK which is still 100% German.
I love America but Germany has always had the edge on us in certain areas like guns and cars, but we have it all over them as a country, so I can deal with that, while happily owning their fine firearms.
By the way, Walther is now an American S&W thing, and to be fair the PPK and PPK/S were among Germany's worst in their handgun history, never known to be really reliable, even when made in Germany.
