1. What Operating System are you running?
2. What Sound Card do you have?

In addtion to turning the speaker volume up did you turn the sound volume up in control panel?

Wouldn't hurt to check it.

At one time my PC volume would not work until I turned the volume down and then back up in control panel.

Did you recently install new hardware or software?

If you uninstall the sound card it would be better done in safe mood. There is also a program that can be used to make sure all registry entrys are wiped clean when uninstalling the card. I have to look on the net to find it.

Try this too. Go to start under run type "dxdiag" no quotes and see if you have problems under sound.

Also go to device manager and see if there are problems there as well.

One more thing. Go to your sound card manufacture web site and see if they have a driver update for that particular model.

BTW:Get your self XP Pro man! Most drivers come with XP pro and you can just install the card without worry about a driver.

Although M$ is suppose to release a new OS in 06.
