5.8ghz is up there...but if the phone is analog modulated and NOT using dss then you very well could be monitored. Got board one day on vaction
and started documenting the freq's for the channels on my 2.4ghz...There
may be a like minded guy doing that on your block.

If you can hear a cordless at any reasonable distance that you are probably listening to the 46/49mhz variety. You know the really old an useless ones

Conversations you will probably hear will go something like this...

"Yes daddy's out there again readin'... hold on honey... Rufus did you close the outhouse door again?... I told you to leave it open its the only way we can get the flys off of grandma's ganegreen toes"

"No honey... we ain't got no need to fer gettin rid of this here no cord phone, we need it so we can hear over dat baby monitor at the Puddy house when our neighbor Buford Puddy is gettin' drunk again and goin' fer that dadburn scattergun and shootin' up the livestock!"

"Hold on sweetheart, I am gunna have to call you back, your daddy has burned his hands again tryin' to make toast on the gas stove and besides that I am bettin' that Pauline Puddy has been listenin' on the party-line again all day for her church group gossip meetin's"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Act is illegal
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will still get a resonable distance on a 900mhz handset
(about 100-150 feet...depending on atmospherics/thickness
of walls) As for what you'll hear...it ranges from over the
telephone banking (Just decode the DTMF tones), Phone
sex on party lines to an eight year old talking to his friends.

Buy your wife an all black outfit so she can sneak around the neighborhood at night peeking in the windows. I think she needs help ASAP.

anyone got any 2.4 ghz ranges. Theoretically I have a icom r20 that could theoretically listen to analog signals.

Also, theoretically I have found cell phone signals in 3 ghz land. I still can not figure out which cell service uses these freqs but they are loud and clear and very active.

Cell phone yacking??? Really great stuff. "Stop and pick up a bag of kitty litter." Don't forget the suppositories at Eckerd. When was the last time you heard anything juicy? This is as bad as peeking in someone's bedroom window to see if they're nekked.

I am guessing any "cell service" at 3 GHz is an image.
PCS is at 1.9 GHz, Cell is in the high 800 MHz, Nextel is in the mid 800 MHz. (of course that is US)

I would think because HF is thought of as 30 MHZ and lower, this is just general. Most cordless phone is 46 MHZ and higher. Cordless phones are above the range of High Frequency.

Some of the real old cordless phones were around 1.7 MHZ, I have one around here some place. I used to tune the am broadcast band and just kept tuning to the 160 meter ham band, I used to run across some cordless and they could be 6 air miles away!
