It is a Type II system with analog talkgroups. But, if they decided to use P25 all they would have to do is upgrade the radios.

I am a Auxiliary/Reserve officer for Bristol, TN we use our badge numbers as our radio numbers, the lower the number the longer you have been there. Kingsport is a little different your radio number changes almost everyday....you have 4 digits i believe the first one is the shift you work in for example if you work 3rds the first digit is 3. the second number is the zone u work so if u work zone 2 it would be a 2. and the last to is the radio number you have. so if i radio 23 my unit number would 3223..i hope that makes since.

We just got our radios upgraded from the old LCS and LTS 2000 Motorola 800mhz radios to the new XTS 2500s and XTL 2500 mobiles. It was a part of the rebanding from Sprint/Nextel I have no idea if we are a Type II or Astro Digital now.

Does County's (deputies) unit numbers' sometimes mirror those used by KPD and BPD

Im hearing 400 series units (403, 463) respond to kingsport addresses on the county tg (49264) talk about confusing, Im guessing a county unit, with a 400 unit number serving a paper on a kingsport address? How off am i
