Default Digital Scanner - Northeast TN/Southwest VA

I've been looking at some new scanners and am wondering if it would be worthwhile to purchase a digital scanner. Am I missing anything (digital broadcasting maybe?) in this area (NE TN/SW VA) that I can't get with my current trunking scanner (Pro-164)?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

In your neck of the woods you aren't missing much, just stick with what you have for now unless you really want to buy a digital scanner.
Virginia has a statewide digital trunk system being built, but I don't know if it has made it down to the southwest corner yet.

Have a nice day

There are other reasons for getting a digital capable scanner even if you don't have digital systems nearby. For example, If you travel a lot, the v-scanner feature of the PSR-500 comes in handy.

In my area, there is only one P-25 system, but having P-25 when I travel, as well as the v-scanners and I-Call feature makes it worth it.

Thanks for the replies. That's pretty much what I expected to hear. I'll put the money toward a new 2M HT. Thanks again!.
