Just FYI, I'm picking up THP Chattanooga on the Hinch mt Site. I'll be getting my cable out of storage this weekend to run a logging program for a bit.

there are a few sites in the Memphis area that are online. only TGs you will hear are TEMA ( state EOC and TEMA west TGs ) the TDOC (the state women's prison in memphis ) and if your lucky THP Memphis testing you will also to be able to hear MSWIN and AWIN in the Memphis area and if you want to listen to local the old Memphis/SC TRS will be handy to have

123, I only see the VHF Hinch site in the database. What's the info for 800mhz and ill stick it in my scanner.

I didn't know the sites were department specific I figured they all belonged to the state. Nice to know. They are all linked together right?

Has this TDOC site been switched over to TACN P25 yet? If so, someone please listen to it with Pro96Com, or UT, T-88 etc and get us the site number and all control alt etc...

TY in advance.

I live in Cumberland County, but within a 5 mile radius is Putnam, White, Fentress and Overton Counties. I never get any TACN traffic on any County sites but White County where I receive Chattanooga Dist. 2 clear as a bell on my HP-1.

I don't know if its a location thing with the HP-1 or what. I'd like to scan Cumberland, Putnam and Dist. 2, but I've not figured out how to do that without having to sit through scanning the whole TACN database.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

You are hearing Dist. 2 off of the Hinch Mt VHF site, no sites are up yet in the Cookeville area at this time.

THP District 1 and 5 were told this morning to switch back to the Low band channels until approximately 4pm est when they would be notified to return to the trunk system. Guess they are doing some maintenance.

The only frequency I hear traffic on is 152.5050 the display shows Hinch Mountain, 152.5050 and NAC 2AO.

When I hear traffic on White County, the display shows THP District 2, Chattanooga group 47004.

I don't get what exactly what the difference is.

Your seeing the site's P25 Site Connect Tone (Network Access Code). And that is good data to know. The 47004 is the actual talk group ID that THP uses. Not sure if the reason your only seeing the NAC and freq is a mistake in the way you set the site up or not. As for why you will only hear limited traffic, there is only 3 frequencies for the VHF site. One CC, and 2 for VC's. Hence the reason that Phase II is needed. On Phase I, you would only have 2 possible users at the same time on that site, where with Phase II, you could get 4 users active at the same time.
